This annual salute to the top singles from fifty years ago features eternal classics from groups like The Mamas & the Papas, Nancy Sinatra, Simon and Garfunkel, and a certain four lads from across the pond. Tap your toes or get up and dance along to chartbusters such as “Cherish,” “Summer in the City,” “Secret Agent Man,” “I Fought the Law,” and “Zorba the Greek.” Mini skirts and Nehru jackets are optional.

13th  Those Were The Days with William Florian  The Spirit & Songs of the 60s
An upbeat, musical journey of America’s greatest songs of the 60s including songs he performed as a lead singer of the famous New Christy Minstrels plus the music of Peter, Paul & Mary, John Denver, Pete Seeger, The Mamas & the Papas, and uplifting originals presented with amusing stories in an intimate show.

20th  Hemmin’ and Hawin’  A Comedy Country Music Revue
Join our amazing non-jug band as they pick, pluck and laugh their way through an evening of corny comedy and down-home country music. This show pays tribute to showmen such as Buck Owens and Roy Clark and the comedy stylings of Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearl, great entertainers who found their way into our hearts and living rooms for more than 20 years. Songs include “Act Naturally” and “PFFT! You Was Gone!” as well as classic country hits by the likes of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Y’all come on and help us SA-LUTE this much-loved genre of toe-tappin’ songs and knee-slappin’ comedy, ya hear?

27th  December ’63  The Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons Concert Re-Creation!
The music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons comes to life in this concert. December ’63 showcases all your favorite songs from Frankie Valli including the one-of-a-kind classics that have been thrilling audiences for decades including everyone’s most popular singles from the musical The Jersey Boys. Before the Beatles landed on the shores of the United States, the Four Seasons were the most popular band in the country.


3rd  Man In Black  The Music of Johnny Cash starring Robert Shaw
Featuring a live band comprised of national talent playing your favorite Cash hits—from the early days of “Folsom Prison Blues” and “I Walk the Line” on through the decades. Including “Ring of Fire,” “A Boy Named Sue,” and “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” this concert brings to life the authentic Cash sound that’s been described as “steady like a train, sharp like a razor.”

17th  Whole Lotta Shakin’!  A Piano Pumpin’ Rock ‘n’ Roll Revue
Imagine the lightning fast piano pumpin’, Rockaboogie playing of Jerry Lee Lewis combined with the raw, powerful vocals of Elvis Presley and you get Ross Martinie Eiler, rock ‘n’ roll piano sensation! This high-energy concert production features a large selection of popular hits from the 50s and 60s as Ross and the band of world-class musicians rip through early rock classics like “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.”

24th  The Spouse Whisperer  From the Mind of Award-Winning Comedian Mark Cordes
Come spend an evening with hilarious, professional comedian Mark Cordes as you examine the ups and downs of dating, relationships, marriage, divorce, and all other aspects of this crazy thing we call life. This show will have you laughing hysterically as Mark educates the crowd on the dos and don’ts of relationships.


2nd  You’ve Got a Friend  The Music of James Taylor, Carly Simon, and Singer/Songwriters of the 20th Century
The 20th Century produced hundreds of talented singer/songwriters in every genre, and this show brings that great music to life. You’ll hear music from the gifted pens of Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Janis Joplin, Carly Simon, and Carole King (to name a few). There’s nothing better than a well-crafted song being played well and sung from the heart!

9th  Bluegrass Bonanza  Bluegrass and Americana with the Sonoran Dogs
A knee-slapping, rip-roaring, rollicking good time featuring bluegrass favorites of yesterday and today injected with a healthy dose of humor. You’ll hear instrumental bluegrass favorites such as “Orange Blossom Special” as well as songs sung with those signature tight harmonies the genre is known for—like “Rocky Top” and “Blue Moon of Kentucky.”

16th  Rave On!  The Music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper
Celebrating the music of the Winter Dance Party Tour (the final concert of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper), this live concert production honors their memory by capturing the rocking spirit of that final tour that also included Dion and The Belmonts. With hits such as “Peggy Sue,” “La Bamba,” “Chantilly Lace,” and “A Teenager In Love,” their music and legacy is remembered as they would have wanted—legendary performers rocking at the top of their game!

23rd  The Music of Motown  Motown Hits and Other Gems of that Era starring Joe Bourne
Featuring music of The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and many more. Joe Bourne and his dynamic band will present the music that will keep you on the edge of your seat, foot tapping, dancing, and singing along as you remember those fond musical memories.

30th  Imperial PANdemic Steel Band  Empire High School’s Steel Drum Band
Directed by David Walton, a founding member of the University of Arizona’s Steel Drum Band Program, the band performs traditional Caribbean music such as Calypso, reggae and soca (soul Calypso) along with pop, jazz and classical. Students explain that ‘pandemic’ refers to the lead drum, or pan, and a musical sound they hope will have an infectious effect on listeners.
